BD has more than 20 years of expertise in skin preparation and we take our responsibility as the industry-leading patient preoperative skin preparation provider very seriously.
Ensuring a consistent supply of the BD ChloraPrep™ portfolio is dependent on several requisites, including the availability of raw materials and components from third-party suppliers, our own manufacturing process and capacity, third-party sterilization process and capacity, and unforeseen external factors such as regulatory body decisions and pandemic-driven demand.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put enormous stress on BD production capacity. In addition, we have recently experienced unexpected issues unrelated to COVID-19, including recalls and third-party supplier constraints. As a result, we are experiencing supply challenges for select BD ChloraPrep™ products. BD is committed to addressing the supply interruptions as quickly as possible, and the following pages outline the actions we are taking.
